Kemah

Last but not least we headed back to Kemah! We wanted to go back b/c we went last summer while we were waiting for Nataga. We knew there would be a day when we could all go see it, it was fun to be there WITH him. We didn't know what it would be like since that area got hit so bad by the hurricane, but it was built back up and nearly the same as it was before. Nataga also got to see some family that he hadn't got to see before so we had a fun but busy weekend! I think we wore him out with all of the fun though!

Did I mention... he walks?

A lot has happened recently and we've been SO busy enjoying every moment we can with Nataga. He started standing a week or two ago and now he can walk holding on to furniture. It doesn't last long b/c he always sees something that is far too interesting and lets go but it won't be long until he is walking on his own!

Swimming!

We took Nataga swimming for the first time last weekend. It was a lot of fun! That boy was born to swim. He probably would have stayed in the pool all day if we would have let him. He loved his float toy and we also carried him around the pool in our arms. He splashed and kicked the whole time! When we got out his feet were pruny and of course we had to take a picture!

Gotta love it!

I didn't think there was any possible way that Nataga could be cuter... but he always finds ways to amaze me and prove me wrong! These pictures were taken today. We got a package in the mail Saturday from my cousin and he hooked us up with some Wyoming gear! When Nataga saw it he was all smiles and he looks so cute in it!
He loves the car walker so I put him in it b/c I had some things I needed to cook. I was around the corner watching where he coudln't see me and he started making car noises as he was "driving" around. It was so cute. He would walk faster and his car noises would get stronger and as he slowed his car noises got quieter! He also has been making "b" noises lately and after the car noises got old he sang and danced in his walker to a "ba, ba, ba" song he made up! It was priceless. I got the video camera out but of course he was too interested in that to preform. So when David came in I told him about the song and dance. I got the "sure he did that" face but once Nataga thought we were both gone he went to singing and dancing where David could see it. We love being his parents and are so lucky!

In Great Need! Can you help?

While we were in Ethiopia we quickly became friends with the people who helped run the Baptist guest house we stayed at. The lady was so nice and worked very hard but there were days when she could not do anything due to sickness. Her stomach would swell up and it would look like she was several months pregnant. She would have SEVERE pain and then within a couple of days she would be back to her tiny size and feel fine. I have been writing back and forth with them since we have returend to the states. They had been doing well, but this is the last email I received:

Hello dear Chelsea and David
Would you keep praying for us? Really my wife’s situation is getting worse and worse, we could not do anything without praying. If you know any charity organization or church which are willing and can be sponsor for my wife to get medical treatment outside Ethiopia that will be good, because the doctors here told us that she has to go abroad for further diagnosis and treatment.
Thank you

One of my sweet friends also gave me the link to this blog it talks about this amazing couple and the experience they had with them.

These are really great people and she is in desperate need of some help. If there is a way you can help please let me know. I am working on organizing some efforts to raise money for a plane ticket and medical attn. for her. Any and all donations will go to helping her. Please pass this along to anyone you know who might be able to help. Also if there are other ideas on how to help please let me know.

Pictures Together

A couple days back we went drove to our favorite walking spot to take some pictures as a family of three... We made sure we had everything loaded up but did not account for the mosquitoes. They all loved having us there and welcomed us with bites from head to toe. Needless to say we only took a couple of pictures (obvioulsy not as a family of three) and quickly ran back to the car. We're looking forward to the day when we can take some pictures all together. Apparently that was not the day for them!

Mothers Day

Nataga took his first real crawl steps on Mothers Day! It was a very exciting event to see. I was so happy and amazed that he was actually crawling. He has been sticking his head on the floor and trying to push forward with his bottom in the air. I think he got 5 crawl steps in (with his head up and his bottom down) and it was amazing to see. I am so glad I got to see this and on mothers day! What a great gift and what a great son! I couldn't have asked for better!

How to know if your car seat will be the right size...

*Don't try this at home, folks*

So before Nataga came home we weren't sure what size to make our car seat. The directions kept saying to get it to the right size before installation, but we didn't have a clue what that size would be... Anyway I figured that our cat would be about the same height as Nataga so we used him as a test model, weird I know. But check it out....

One happy cat and the baby results....

The joys of motherhood

He is working on learning to crawl- or as he would like- walk...

So I had to post this one. Since Nataga has came home I have tried to take a picture (or 50) each day. I think he is getting tired of the flash in his face. I think part of it is that we HARDLY EVER got pictures of him during our wait. Now that we have him home I am going to make sure we have plenty!

Nataga loves to read!!! Scroll down for the rest of the "newest" pictures!

Our newest looks!

So what have we been doing? Well we tried out our new swing a few days ago. He loved it... that is until our dog came to visit. Then he thought that the dog was MUCH more fun and cried until we got him out to see the dog! :) We are finding out just how much work this little one is but are loving the new change and having fun as a family of three!

Nataga LOVES to look at himself in this mirror and spends a ton of time smiling at his reflection!

We are working on getting the stars into our mouth. Until then we've started a new trend, star face designs! I think they'll be a big hit!
