Tsehai

I’m pleased to share the news that CNN International is airing a 30 minute feature about the work of Whiz Kids Workshop this weekend. CNN will cover the story of the educational children’s television programming created in Ethiopia over the past 6 years, including “Tsehai Loves Learning” and “Involve Me,” the new youth TV series made in partnership with Save the Children Denmark, as well projects in production related to literacy, science, or public health. The episode is part of an ongoing CNN series called “African Voices.” In CNN's words "African Voices highlights Africa's most engaging personalities, exploring the lives and passions of people who rarely open themselves up to the camera."
CNN International reaches 200 million households internationally in over 200 countries.
Our project has gained increased attention in recent months, following the award received from Rolex. Here is a link to Rolex’s page about our work: http://young.rolexawards.com/laureates/bruktawit_tigabu

Nati's new look

Nataga has recently discovered cowboy boots. He hasn't wanted to wear shoes lately so we don't fight the issue! I guess the horse ride really left an impression!

Gotcha Day

Today is officially Nataga's gotcha day (the first day we held him in our arms)! We stepped off the plane and had the opportunity to meet our son THAT day! We were told that we wouldn't be meeting him until the 13th. It was a great surprise! Happy gotcha day kiddo!

Celebrating K

Nati's gotcha day is April 12th. We've been celebrating a little at a time over the weekend as he is too young to fully take everything in. We looked at some photo books, went out to eat, gave him a couple of presents, and went to see something he LOVES- "FireCrucks!" We toured a real fire station and that seemed to be a big hit!

Help

I know many of you have updated your blog and I need help/advice! I'm tired of the title not showing up in posts- does anyone know how to change the just "title color"? If not, what is the easiest way to get a new design and not loose any of our previous info, etc.?

Haircut (re-post)

For whatever reason our pictures wouldn't post so I had to do it a different way. Hopefully now everyone can see the pictures!?

We took Nataga to get an actual haircut. We're still deciding if we like it or not. Don't get me wrong, he looks great no matter what... but we miss those curls! It was quite the event and he was scared to death and we had to hold him down so that the lady could finish. He did a great job for as scared as he was! He also went to the dentist the same day, no cavities! Here are some recent pictures. I think the haircut makes him look a lot older.
