9-21-09Last night I was very excited as I went to post and there were 10 boys waiting to be sponsored. Then as I posted the number went to eight. We selected our child and it made 7. Sadly one of the boys did not end up getting sponsored so we are back to 8. If you can sponsor one of these boys it would be a great thing.

There are 8 boys still on Compassion's web site that have waited more than 6 months for someone to sponsor them. To see them click the link above "8 boys", it will take you to the site. Then you'll need to find Country and select Ethiopia. Next find Longest Waiting and change it to yes. Hit search and voila! It takes $38 a month for these children to get food, medical support, education, etc. It is a great program and tax-deductible.
Only $38 per month connects your child with a loving, church-based program that provides:

• Safe and healthy recreation
• Social development
• Opportunities to know Christ and grow in faith
You can also go to Compassion's main site. I did a search for children from Ethiopia who have waited longer than 6 months and that is how I found these boys. There are children from all over the world. Check it out!

After reading your post yesterday I spent some time on the Compassion website. On their blog I ran across a post about a group of college guys from Texas A&M who will sponsor one child through Compassion for every 100,000 views of a YouTube video of some basketball stunts.
