Getting closer

Its been 5 weeks since we were wait listed(The picture above is of 5 ethiopian birr)! I was going to wait until the 2 month mark to post, but you can tell how well that went over! I never thought I would look forward to a summer going by fast but I know as each day passes we are that much closer to our baby!!! I think about our baby to be often. What do you think, will we get a boy or girl (Any guesses? Take our poll!!!!)?

I found this through my blogging friend Rebecca's web site, she had a lists of blogs she reads so I checked them out myself. Anyway, Did you guys see the 60 minutes segment on Plumpy'Nut? This stuff is amazing, "Cures malnutrition in three weeks."

On another note, we have been keeping as busy as we can. Besides work, we went to a blueberry farm. It was pretty neat. We got to pick 1 gal. of blueberries for $6! David was laughing b/c on our most recent trip to the store they had this tiny container of them ON SALE for $3.95! He then decided we got a good deal. The blueberries tasted SO much better than store bought. I have never really loved the taste of raw blueberries until we got them off of the bush. We always complain that we have to drive a long way to do anything since we live in the sticks but this was about 30 minutes away in the next town! We also went down to Galveston Boardwalk. That was pretty neat, it had changed so much since the last time we were there. David said that it is one of the top rated boardwalks. I can't wait to go back and hopefully next time we'll have the baby! If you get a chance and haven't already done so, look at the previous post and post your favorite thing about adoption.

Hey there!
I love that plumpy'nut stuff... it's a miracle. I need to write about that on my blog too... geez... I'm so challenged that I don't even know how to link to somewhere... maybe I'll figure that out soon :).
I've been thinking about my favorite part of adoption... that's a loaded question! I'd have to say my favorite part is the possibility of sparking curiosity and compassion in someone who has never even considered adoption. That by just looking at our colorful family, someone else may want to take that path to building a family, and take in an orphan as their OWN. Just that one more child may be loved and BELONG... that's my favorite part :).
take care!

My favorite part about our adoption journey has been hearing about our girls and seeing their picture for the first time. I must have read their profile a million times! I hope and pray your time comes soon!

I am so glad you didn't wait for the two month mark to make a new post! Keep them coming!

It looks like you are getting some good "favorite parts" comments for the list you are compiling. Yay! I am still thinking about mine but I will add mine to the list.

Thanks for the link!

Hi! Just dropping by to lurk around here. Hope you don't mind, I've added you to my list so I can lurk more.

I love blueberries and boardwalks. Together they're even better. :)
